Workout: Table View

In the article, we will dive into the Table View mode.

As the Workout Screen article mentions, athletes can view real-time metrics on the ErgZone app in 3 formats: Table View, Grid View, and Live View.

The Table View mode proves highly beneficial when athletes want to evaluate their performance throughout the workout by comparing intervals or splits.

Table View is the mode that opens when you open the workout to connect the app to the erg monitor.

By default, it will display a table 6x4 table as follows:

  • 6 columns for metrics
  • 4 or more rows, depending on device dimensions:
    • Header
    • Content
      • The first content row displays the current data for each of the metrics selected on the header;
      • All subsequent rows display the data for each interval or split programmed on the workout.

ErgZone+ members can expand the table view by adding up to 10 columns, allowing them to visualize more metrics (data) during a workout.

Understanding the Data

The screenshot below demonstrates how the Table View is displayed on the iPhone in landscape mode.

Header

The first row of the table is the header; it displays the names of the metrics.

Some metrics' names are shortened to fit in the limited space.

In this example, the screen is configured to display time, meters, pace, rate, drive length, and force curve.

Overall Data

The second row displays the Current or Overall Data, depending on the metric.

During the workout, this row provides real-time data, mirroring the information displayed in the erg monitor.

When the workout is finished or stopped, this row displays the overall data for the whole workout. Depending on the metric selected, it may be a total or average.

The leftmost column presents a circular progress bar and its corresponding percentage, representing the entire workout's progress.

The subsequent data are the combined metrics for the whole workout.

Intervals or Splits List

The third and subsequent lines display data for each interval or split.

In portrait mode, the app will always display three (3) intervals: previous, current, and next. In landscape mode, thirteen (13) intervals are displayed.

When the workout has more splits/intervals than can be displayed, the ErgZone app will automatically scroll to the next interval as the workout progresses.

The leftmost column presents a circular progress bar and its corresponding percentage, representing the interval's progress. The subsequent data are the metrics for that specific interval or split.

Personalizing the Table View

To choose a different metric to be displayed in Table View mode, tap the columns' header, as demonstrated in this video.

Available Metrics

ErgZone locks the first four columns to display a specific set of metrics as follows:

1st Column

2nd Colum

  • Meters: distance
  • Total: total distance + total distance during rest

3rd Column

  • /500m (row or ski) or /1000m (bike): pace
  • /500m (row or ski) or /1000m (bike): target pace differential
  • Watts
  • Cals/hr

4th Column

  • SPM/RPM
Strokes per minute for rowERG and skiERG
    Revolutions per minute for bikeERG

5th and 6th Column

  • ❤️: BPM or HR% if Max HR is set
  • Zone: Heart Rate Zone
  • Count: stroke count for skiERG and rowERG & revolutions count for bikeERG
  • DF: Drag Factor
  • Cals: Calories
  • Watt: Wattage
  • SPI: Stroke Power Index (watts divided by rate)
  • Power Icon - Power percentage, calculated based on benchmarks (*)
  • FTP%: Percentage of FTP, calculated based on benchmarks (*)
  • Max%: Percentage of the Max ⚡, calculated based on benchmarks (*)
  • SPI%: Percentage of SPI, calculated based on benchmarks (*)
  • Max⚡: Max Power - maximum watts (*)
  • Drive: drive length is displayed in meters (*)
  • Force: average force is displayed in LB (pounds)  (*)
  • Peak: peak force (top of the power curve) in LB (pounds)
  • Ratio: work recovery ratio is displayed as a number with decimals. For example, a ratio equal to 2 means 2:1 (*)
  • w/kg: watts per kilo (*)
  • Curve: Force Curve (*)
    • Force Curve ∆1 (*)
    • Force Curve ∆5 (*)
  • Force efficiency: ideal world, it would be 100%, it will (beta) and only on Admin (*)
(*) Available for group owners and ErgZone+ members.
(**) Available for group owners and ErgZone+ members on workouts where all intervals or splits are for distance.
