23/09/26: New Feature Release: Force Curve Delta
𝗡𝗲𝘄: 𝗘𝗻𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗲 𝗖𝘂𝗿𝘃𝗲 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀
We are excited to introduce an expanded Force Curve feature on ErgZone, giving athletes more control over their data visualization. With this update, athletes can choose between viewing the Force Curve as a Line or the existing Area shape. Additionally, two new insightful metrics have been introduced: Force Curve ∆1 (Delta 1) and Force Curve ∆5 (Delta 5).
A Force Curve Delta (∆) offers a comprehensive view by displaying two force curves:
» The current stroke's force curve appears in teal.
»The force curve from the previous strokes appears in orange.
For ∆1, the orange curve mirrors the force curve of the last stroke, while for ∆5, it reflects the average force curve of the last five strokes combined.
The intersection of these teal and orange curves is highlighted in vibrant neon green.

For rowing, the consistency between strokes is relevant. When visualizing Delta (∆) Force Curve Area, the more pronounced green color (or less orange or teal displayed), the better.

The force curve serves as a visual representation of power output throughout the rowing stroke. It serves as a valuable tool for both rowers and coaches, providing insights into the efficiency of power application during each stroke.

Delta, denoted as ∆, sheds light on how a stroke, or a sequence of strokes, diverges. Since the goal is to find and replicate a good stroke, Delta helps athletes and coaches assess stroke-by-stroke consistency. This innovative concept is a new addition to the ErgZone app and will soon be integrated into other metrics. Stay tuned for more updates!
Force Curve, Force Curve ∆1, and Force Curve ∆5 are available for ErgZone+ Members.
