Stripe & Non-Profit Requirements
ErgZone fundraisers use Stripe to process donations securely and reliably. To launch a fundraiser, the organizing entity must meet specific requirements related to non-profit eligibility and Stripe account setup.
This article outlines what is required before a fundraiser can go live.
Non-Profit or Fundraising Eligibility
Fundraisers on ErgZone are intended for organizations that are legally allowed to collect donations.
The organization running the fundraiser must:
- Be authorized to receive donations
- Comply with applicable fundraising laws and regulations
- Provide accurate and complete organizational information
ErgZone does not determine non-profit status or legal eligibility. These requirements are verified through Stripe.
Stripe Account Requirement
To accept donations, the organization must have a Stripe account that is:
- Approved by Stripe
- Enabled to receive payments
- Eligible for donation-based transactions
All donations made through an ErgZone fundraiser are processed through this Stripe account.
Stripe Connected Account
ErgZone uses Stripe Connected Accounts for all fundraisers.
Before a fundraiser can be created:
- The organization must contact the ErgZone team
- ErgZone connects the organization’s Stripe account as a Connected Account
- Stripe verifies the account details and eligibility
This connection allows donations to be processed directly to the organization through Stripe.
Currency and Payment Processing
- The fundraiser currency must match the connected Stripe account
- Stripe handles all payment processing and payout logic
- Stripe fees apply in addition to ErgZone’s platform fee
ErgZone does not control payment methods, fee structures, or payout timing.
Responsibility and Compliance
The organization running the fundraiser is responsible for:
- Maintaining an active and compliant Stripe account
- Adhering to Stripe’s terms of service
- Meeting any local, regional, or national fundraising requirements
ErgZone provides the fundraising platform but does not act as the payment processor or recipient of funds.
