Groups: Direct Messages
Direct messages allow athletes and coaches to communicate privately within the ErgZone app.
Use this feature to ask questions, share feedback, or stay connected with members of your training group — all in one place.
Note: This feature is not enabled by default. Group admins must initiate the chat with individuals for messaging to begin.
Group admins can send messages to all active members within their groups. You can learn more here.
Start a Direct Message Chat
- Open the ErgZone app
- Select the group
Tap the Manage Group icon
Locate the member you wish to message and tap on the chat bubble next to their name.
Type the first message and tap the "Send" button.
Once a message is sent, group members will see a badge indicating they have a new unread message.
If they have notifications enabled, they’ll also receive a push notification on their device.
Copy a Message
- Press and hold the message
Tap "Copy Message"
The content will be copied to the device's clipboard.
Delete a Message
Users can only delete messages that they have sent.
- Press and hold the message
Tap "Delete message"
Tap the "Delete Message" confirmation button.
The message will be deleted
Mute Chat
To mute a chat, tap the bell icon at the top of the screen.
This will turn off notifications for new messages in that conversation.
